An Introduction to the Compact Excavator
The compact hydraulic excavator can be a tracked or wheeled vehicle with an approximate operating weight of 13,300 pounds. Normally, it includes a standard backfill blade and features an independent boom swing. The compact hydraulic excavator is also known as a mini excavator.
A compact hydraulic excavator is different from other types of heavy machinery in the sense that all movement and functions of the machine are accomplished through the transfer of hydraulic fluid. The work group and blade are activated by hydraulic fluid acting upon hydraulic cylinders. The rotation and travel functions are also activated by hydraulic fluid powering hydraulic motors.
Most types of compact hydraulic excavators have three assemblies - house, undercarriage, and the work group.
House
The house structure contains the compartment for the operator, engine compartment, hydraulic pump and also the distribution components. The house structure is attached to the top of the undercarriage via swing bearing. Along with the work group, the house is able to rotate upon the undercarriage without limit due to a hydraulic distribution valve that supplies oil to the undercarriage components.

The undercarriage of compact excavators consists of rubber or steel tracks, drive sprockets, rollers, idlers, and associated components and structures. The undercarriage is also home to the house structure and the work group.
Work group
The work group consists of the boom, dipper or arm, and attachment. It is connected to the front of the house structure via a swinging frame that allows the work group to be hydraulically pivoted left or right in order to achieve offset digging for trenching parallel with the tracks.
Independent boom swing
The purpose of the boom swing is for offset digging around obstacles or along foundations, walls, and forms. Another use is for cycling in areas that are too narrow for cab rotation. Another major advantage of the compact excavator is the independent boom swing.
Backfill blade
The backfill blade on compact excavators are used for grading, leveling, backfilling, trenching, and general dozer work. The blade can also be used to increase the dumping height and digging depth depending on it's position in relation to the workgroup.
The most common place you'll find compact excavators is in residential dwellings. When digging phone lines or other things, these pieces of equipment are very common for getting between houses. Due to their small size, they can fit almost anywhere.
Over the years, the capabilities for compact excavators have expanded far beyond the tasks of excavation. With hydraulic powered attachments such as breakers, clamps, compactors and augers, the compact excavator is used with many other applications and serves as an effective attachment tool as well. Serving many purposes, the compact excavator is a great addition to any job that requires the use of machinery.

All About the Dahle 846 Heavy-Duty Stack Cutter
When it comes to cutting tools, the stack cutter is king. A stack cutter can cut hundreds of sheets of paper in what seems like the blink of an eye. One of models currently available is the Dahle 846 Heavy-Duty Stack Cutter. Here's a review of this machine so you can learn all about it.
- The 846 is definitely the device you need if you routinely need to cut huge stacks of paper. This machine can cut up to 500 sheets of 20 lb. bond paper at once. That's the equivalent of one ream of paper. This device's blade is also able to cut stacks of cardstock. However, since cardstock is thicker than 20 lb. bond paper, you won't be able to cut as much of it at one time.

- The 846 is a very large machine that measures 30" x 25-1/2". It's also extremely heavy, weighing in at 134 pounds. Whether you choose to order the stand or not, you'll need to be careful when moving the 846 because it's so heavy.
- As with any cutting tool, safety is a concern when using the 846. This device is equipped with built-in plastic safety covers that will help keep your hands away from the cutting area.
- To ensure the best possible cut, this machine has a manual clamp to keep everything in place. There's also a scale bar so you can measure the paper before cutting it. The scale bar has both metric and standard measurements. This device also has a spindle-driven backstop so you can cut repeatedly.
- The 846 is a bright blue color. (Think of the Cookie Monster – it's the same exact color.) The color might be off-putting and unfortunately, there are no other hues available.
When it comes right down to it, the Dahle 846 is a very simple machine: it's made to cut large stacks of paper and it does so beautifully. With a 500-sheet cutting capacity, this machine is ideal for workplaces needing a heavy-duty device. You can cut different sizes of paper with it and get great results all the time while staying safe. Of course, you'll need to make sure you can accommodate its size and that the color isn't going to be a total eyesore. Different brands of drums
Yamaha- Yamaha first manufactured drums in 1968. In 1993 Yamaha came out with the Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System, known as YESS, for mounting drums. Early Yamaha drum equipment borrowed concepts from Ludwig drum set models. But it soon acquired a place among the top drum manufacturers and led the industry with its unique and innovative shell construction and finished techniques. YESS hardware minimizes shell to mount contact, allowing maximum drum resonance. In addition to making acoustic drum kits and hardware, Yamaha is also a major manufacturer of best selling electronic drums in the world. Tama- Tama made the first multi-clamp hardware, letting drummers easily extend their drum sets. Tama manufacture first focused on drum hardware, whose demand was increasing due to the rise of rock music, which required sturdy equipment for loud playing. Tama introduced the first boom cymbal stand in production and led the industry with rugged double braced 36 inch tripods.
DW- Drum Workshop or DW in short, is the leading new American drum company that offers a large variety of snare drum shell materials including aluminum, copper, steel, brass, brass and maple combination, a great selection of lacquered finishes, and various types of rims. In 1980, DW patented the chain and sprocket bass drum pedal drive system, which is the industry standard today. 1980s Drum Workshop also led the industry in manufacturing of double bass pedals based on their 5000 series. Ludwig- The Ludwig Company was established in America by two German-born brothers, the older William F. and the younger Theobald Ludwig. William F. designed pedals capable of fast tempos and high power, and had them made out of wood by a cabinet maker. The Ludwig & Ludwig Company started out by mass producing durable metal versions of pedals of William's. Ludwig drums were selling strong throughout the 1920s, but the invention of the talking movie, which decreased demand for live percussion, and the US market crash in 1929 severely curtailed Ludwig sales.
Pearl- Pearl drums, manufactured by the Pearl Instrument Company, are the most widely used drum kits today. In 1966 Pearl introduced the first professional drums kit under the Pearl name, the Pearl President. Pearl then became the first Japanese drum brand to make it in the United States and UK. Today pearl drums are manufactured in the United States, Taiwan, and Japan, with a corporate headquarters in Chiba, Japan.
