Cinema 4D - Splines, Primitives, and Their Friends
Cinema 4D provides quite an array of tools for splines, primitives, and nearly anything you can imagine. I often discover tools 'in reverse', when I want to create something and need a tool to help me do it. When you create a splash, bounce something, launch something, there's a good chance you will want to catch it in the same animation. Having a bowl should do the trick. This could be a body of water, this could be a moving vehicle in space but the shape you want and its skeletal definition will resemble a bowl. No problem.
A great way to get started on this project is by creating sphere. Picture the bowl, or pond, or spacecraft reservoir it will become but begin with a simple sphere. Once you have your sphere, make it editable by entering the 'C' key, or using the top menu item on your tool menu on the left of your layout in the standard (and most) menu layouts. A helpful exercise on making an object editable is to choose your sphere first, then click 'Structure' on the top menu. You only see 'Create Polygon' presented as an option. Make your sphere editable and click on the same 'Structure' menu option. Now nearly every option on the structure menu is available and this is an impressive library! for free 3d models
To use these tools your object needs to be editable and to have 'released' some of its property as a primitive object reclaiming some of its 'splineness'. Even the selection process in Cinema 4D involves some selection of its own which can be a bit frustrating in the beginning but like most of Cinema's features, this simply provides greater flexibility which is appreciated down the line.
Here we are going to select the upper half of our new sphere. To be able to select several sections of an object with a fell swoop, use the rectangle selector which is found under the 'Selection' menu. For this exercise use the 'right' view by entering the 'F3' function key. From this profile view for free 3d models, it is much easier to visually separate upper and lower sections of your object, in this case, a sphere. Use your rectangle selector to extend beyond the upper half into the first section of blocks below. You immediately see your upper sphere highlighted with little spears, lines extruding from the sphere. Be sure one other selection has been made and that is, under your rectangle selection attributes, 'un-check' 'Only Select Visible Elements'. With select only visible elements, that is exactly what you get and in our case, it would only choose the portion of the sphere visible in the right profile view.
Just for fun, check the 'Select Only' then use the green up arrow to draw your sphere up vertically and you will see only one side affected. Enter 'F1' to return to your perspective view and see how only part of this object is moving and the distorted shape you are creating. Now, there may be times this is exactly what you want, a partially distorted shape with only a part of one side or top being redrawn but using 'Select Only' makes all the difference. for free 3d models
Now, with these many steps of preparation, simply 'right click' then choose 'disconnect' from the options presented. You will see a 'preserve groups' option which is chosen by default. Click 'OK' and you will have your sphere in two sections now. Try different views to appreciate your what you have done. Move the upper half up to see the distinct 'half' sphere. However notice that while you have disconnected your sphere, it is still a single object. When you used the disconnect command you chose the default 'preserve groups' option.
Do this same exercise, perhaps 'Ctrl Z' to backup to the step where you separated your sphere only this time don't choose to preserve groups. Now using the 'live selection' tool, see that any separate face on your newly created polygon is a separate object. You can reshape, change color or texture to that single piece of your new shape for free 3d models.
Now we have the bowl that we sought at the beginning of the exercise. What if you wanted to keep both halves though, and sew them back together. Why, the 'stitch and sew' command would be just the thing, in our continuation of 'splines, and their friends'.

All about Light Show Gloves
Rave parties are among the most exciting and fun-filled parties held on this plant. It is not only an integration of people coming from varied backgrounds, age groups and sexes but a great way to get oneself off from his or her daily routine. Grooving music, dance and flash lights are some of the major characteristics of rave parties. In these parties, attire holds its own importance. It is a medium through which the rave goers express their style statement. This is the reason why rave goers tend to get dresses as funky as they can. Not only their attire is flashy, but also its accessories.
One such accessory, which is of considerable help in catching attention of the party goers are the light show gloves. These gloves are in fact a tool to showcase one's creativeness. Light gloves can be made of many garments including rubber, latex, wool, leather or clot etc. You will find them available in many shapes and sizes. Party goers usually buy normal gloves and modify them so as to give them a light glove like look.
Light show gloves can also be fingerless gloves, i.e. the front portion of the fingers as well as thumb can be seen bare in these gloves. In parties during night, these gloves provide you with an amazing view. If there is a large opening instead of individual openings then it is called a Gauntlet. Of all the types of gloves available in the market, Gauntlet light gloves and Fingerless light gloves are the most favorites.
When the light gloves glow in the darkness, they tend to immediately attract others who are present in the party. It will be not wrong to say that they have now become an integral part of the rave culture. These gloves are also not gender specific, which implies both a boy and a girl can use it. You can choose the color depending upon the style as well as your preference. Usually, the light gloves that you are wearing should go along well with your attire.
People wear black dresses with glow or light gloves in the parties and it seems that there are only two hands dancing in the air and nothing else is visible. The colors that are emitted from these gloves are green, yellow and red. These are the common ones, besides there are a lot of other colors found in these types of gloves. If you are unable to find the light gloves of your choice then you can always resort to the power of internet. There are also many manufactures that offer you customized services. Thus, you can get the glow or light gloves as you want them to be.
The caliber and the fashion of rave wear have been rising since the late 90's. Over the years, they have becoming more appealing, flashy and noticeable. Also, they come cheap these days. So what are you waiting for? Just grab a pair of gloves and be ready to become start of the party.

What happens in a Japanese tea ceremony?
With a history spanning over a thousand years, the Japanese tea ceremony is a perfectly choreographed ritual with an important place in Japanese culture. The ceremony, known in Japanese as 'chanoyu' or 'chado', developed primarily from the influence of Zen Buddhism. It revolves around the preparation and drinking of matcha, which is a form of powdered green tea. Different kinds of tea ceremonies range from informal gatherings which may include the serving of light food, to formal occasions lasting several hours which include a full meal as well as thick and thin tea.
Styles of preparation for the Japanese tea ceremony differ depending on the time of year, with a Kama (iron kettle) heated on a brazier in the summer months, or in a sunken hearth (Ro) in the winter. The positioning of the various utensils used to prepare the green tea is altered accordingly, along with other elements such as the equipment used.
The tea itself can be served thin or thick, with only the best quality leaves being used for the latter. Thin matcha uses three times less tea to the same volume of water than thick tea. To prepare thin tea, the matcha is whisked together with hot water using a chasen (a tea whisk), while thick tea is blended gently by kneading the matcha into the water using the chasen.
In a formal ceremony, guests wash their hands and rinse their mouths with water while they await the host, and then remove their shoes and enter the tea rooms to look at the tea equipment. They are seated in order of importance on the tatami mats, and the host then prepares the charcoal fire in front of them. Food is eaten in several courses during this more formal version of the ceremony, and it is followed by the very precise preparation of the thick and thin tea. Utensils are cleansed and arranged in an exact layout, and the guest and host bow to each other as the tea is handed around from a communal bowl. The fire is then rekindled and the thin tea prepared, to be handed out individually along with small sweets. Finally, the utensils are cleaned and the guests ritually examine them before leaving.
The tea ceremony can take place in numerous settings, provided that the necessary utensils used in the ceremony can be appropriately laid out and that the host is able to prepare the tea in front of the guests. This means that it may take place outdoors or inside, but a full traditional tea ceremony requires a room covered with tatami mats with ample room for the preparation of the tea and accompanying elements.
Guests drink thin tea from individual bowls, while thick tea is served from a single bowl and shared by those present. Other equipment used in the ceremony varies depending on the style and season of the occasion. Essential equipment includes the chakin (a white linen cloth used for wiping the tea bowls clean), the natsume (the tea caddy), the chashaku (tea scoop, usually bamboo) and the chasen.

Rain Shut Off Devices For Automatic Lawn Sprinkler Systems
The sensor determines whether or not enough rainfall has occurred in order to skip an irrigation cycle. There are three basic types of rain sensors. They all serve the same purpose: keeping your system from over-watering the turf or your garden. How does it do that? The electrical connection between the sensor and your sprinkler system controller is interrupted when a certain amount of rain triggers the device. The sensor breaks the electrical connection so that electricity cannot flow to either the sprinkler valves or to a pump start (if your system is on a well without a pressure tank).
One type breaks the connection by weighing the water in a rainfall collection cup. The problem with this type is that leaves, sticks, or the occasional lizard will find its way into the collection cup and therefore turning off the system.
The next type uses electrodes to determine how much water is in the collection cup. This kind of rain sensor device also has a system problem of collecting things other than rainfall in the collection cup.
The most common type of rain sensor used by professionals is the expansion disk device. This kind of sensor does not use a collection cup; instead rainfall causes cork disks to expand. This device uses a pressure switch to break the electrical connection. These can be adjusted in increments of ¼" to the desired rain fall setting. This adjustment is usually set to turn off the sprinklers after ½" of rain has fallen.
The most important aspect of installing a rain sensor is where to place it. It should be installed in an area that is unobstructed by trees, roof over hangs, or anything else that might block rain from getting to the sensor. If it is a wired sensor, placement is generally near the sprinkler controller. The wires should be connected inside the controller's valve wiring panel. This allows for easier electrical trouble-shooting of the system as the sensor can be easily disconnected.
In the last few years, FM wireless rain sensors have become very popular. Although they are more expensive than the wired devices, the ease of installation and increased placement options offset the cost. Most wireless units come with by-pass switches built into the device. Some digital controllers also offer by-pass options for both wired devices and wireless rain sensors.
No matter the type of rain sensor type that you choose, all rain sensors offer many advantages over not adding this detector to your automatic sprinkler system. Some of the immediate and long term benefits include:
o Saves Money. Whether you pay for city water or spend electricity running a pump, the money you save over time will more than pay for the rain sensor.
o Extends Sprinkler System Life Span. Irrigation systems are made up of moving parts. If the system parts are utilized less frequently (during the rainy season), they last longer.
o Protects Water Resources. By limiting the over use of your sprinkler system, rain sensors reduce excess water run-off that carries fertilizers and pest control chemicals into our shared water supply.
o Conserves Water. Less water is wasted when less supplemental water is needed for your turf and in your garden.
How much money can you save with a rain sensor device?
It will vary based on your water source (city, re-claim, or well) and where you live (water costs, electrical rate, climate). Here is one example that demonstrates the benefits listed above:
Seminole County, Florida.
System Description:
o Designed to irrigate a quarter acre of grass and programmed to apply ½" of water every time the system runs.
o This schedule would equal 6,788 gallons per irrigation cycle.
o This system (on City Water) pays $2.30 per thousand gallons.
o Every time the rains sensor interrupts a sprinkler cycle, you would save $15.61
According to a recent study in Florida, the use of a rain sensor device averaged a 45% savings in water for single-family residential water usage.
The next time you see a sprinkler system running in the rain, you now know it doesn't have to be that way. Rain sensors are affordable solutions to conserving our water, protecting our water resources, and saving you money.
