Hip Hop Drum Beats – How To Beat The Top
This current craze is made up of several parts of which the Rap and the Beat are the most important.
The State of New York is where this style of music comes from. The south part of the Bronx is where it was originally heard in 1971 or 1972. The use of automatic drum machines changed forever how these beats would be created in the current day. Today these drum beats are the foundation for the creation of this type of music.
The striking of this drum beat has it's beginning in African music.
It was there that groups of traveling poets known as the Griots first made this type of music that we know today as hip hop. Back here in the USA people first began using this music style in neighborhood parties where it was common for people to here many new styles of music. The MC of the party would feature this new music with the heavy drum beats.
Before this was known here in the USA, it was widely popular in Jamaica which had been influenced by the US military personnel stationed there. Another variation of the drum happens when someone changes things by moving the turntable back and forth called scratching. The DJ was known for creating the scratching sound we all have heard. This is the sound you hear many times behind the rapping in the foreground.
One of the features is also the combining of two different songs together at the same time. The making of this curl is used to fill the background by a constant repeating of the beat over and over in the background. Since it is being used within the confines of a private party, no one needs to get permission first to use it. In order to create the striking sounds of this drum beat music, you need some tools, or perhaps all one has to use is their own voice.
Many of these tools used in order to create rhythms is patterned after the Synthesizer. Using of these machines to play the drum beats is widely accepted. Plus they also use guitars and pianos plus a human voice to do the raps. The striking of the drum beat is one of the basic principles included in hip hop production.
Many of the major rap stars of today have said they were influenced a lot from the blues music originating out of Memphis, Tenn. Knowing what you know now about these drum beats, it is ok if you want to get up on your feet and move a little to the music.
