What is so special about the Roland TD-9 Electronic Drum Set?

Roland has outdone itself this time with the Roland TD9 mid level kit. This drum set has been around for some time now. In fact, Roland has also provided upscale kits which include the Roland TD12 and the big daddy of them all, the Roland TD20. But the TD9 has been very popular among beginner and intermediate drummers.

What exactly is an electronic drum set

The Brain

The Roland TD9 Drum Module is the heart of the electronic drum kit and is sometimes referred to as the "brain". The modulue is the main piece of the kit and without it the thing just wouldn't work. The module has 50 pre-set drum kits and over 500 sounds which you can assign to the pads and cymblals.

The module can accomodate up to twelve devices for pads and cymbals so you can customize your kit any way you want to. This gives you the ability to build a kit all the way up to 12 pieces

The Set

The kit itself has all the elements of a regular acoustic kit, the only difference of course is that its all electronic. The pads and cymbals are constructed of a mesh material which imitates the touch and feel of an acoustic set. A lot of drummers actually prefer the feel and bounce of a mesh head over traditional drum heads.
